What to Expect in a Coaching Session

Each session is catered to your needs as a unique individual. For neurodiversity (autism or ADHD) coaching, diagnosis is not required; I welcome self-identification and neuro-questioning. I offer AANE’s IACT framework and Heather Morgan’s values-based unmasking framework for life coaching, autism coaching, and ADHD coaching.

In a session, we work together to address your priorities. If you’re unsure what your priorities are, we figure that out collaboratively. You might want help building a community, managing everyday tasks, or implementing supports and accommodations. You might need guidance on preventing or climbing out of burnout. Or, you might be interested in unmasking safely and living authentically. Unmasking often involves reframing beliefs you’ve picked up over the years, which allows you to live the way that works for your neurotype. Together we support your autonomy through validating lived experience, building self awareness and self acceptance, and practicing self advocacy.

Sessions are neurodiversity-affirming, meaning that there is flexibility in how we interact and that different ways of being and thinking are welcomed. I encourage you to stim/fidget and communicate the way you need to in order to keep your nervous system safe and to process the session. In my office, there are light dimmers, sensory tools, relaxing music, and a weighted blanket. You are welcome to bring your own sensory tools. For zoom sessions, we have the option of using text chat, turning the camera off, and using a transcript. Clients are free to walk around/move/use sensory tools/fidgets, and take breaks whenever needed.

What to Expect in a Hypnosis Session

Hypnosis sessions start out with talking, where we identify your needs, process emotions on a conscious level, and gain a deeper understanding of your issue with thought-provoking questions. We all have wounds from emotions we’ve suppressed in the past. These emotional wounds become lodged in the subconscious mind. When the wounds are not addressed for long enough, our minds ruminate on the same stories, creating limiting beliefs–and eventually–unhelpful survival strategies and behavior patterns.

The second part of a hypnosis session is like a guided meditation but with a goal–such as habit change or improved confidence. The body and mind are relaxed deeply through techniques such as progressive muscle relaxation, followed by imagination exercises. I guide you through the deep work, layer by layer, to release stuck emotions. We fill the hole left by those wounds with empowering tools. During hypnosis, your conscious mind is aware the whole time, while the relaxed state gives you access to your subconscious mind. You remember your session and are in full control of your body and responses. This process allows you to discover inner strengths, and gain clarity and freedom from old patterns.
